Maximise energy efficiency: threshold values for optimal self-consumption
In this article, we describe how you can use the energy you generate even more intelligently for your own needs.
Our EcoTracker makes it possible – feed less unused energy into the grid. Simply by setting threshold values!
Various threshold values can be set in the EcoTracker. The most common use is a threshold value for power consumption. You define a value, for example, if you are currently feeding 200 watts of surplus energy into the public grid. Above this value, the EcoTracker should switch on the pool pump or tumble dryer, for example. It works the same way in reverse: if the threshold value is not reached, devices can be switched off again in a targeted manner. This allows you to optimise your own consumption of the PV energy generated by up to 30%!
To create a threshold value, proceed as follows:
- Click on your EcoTracker
- Select the Threshold values field
- Press the + to create a new threshold value according to your needs and click on Add:
- Select Power consumption if you want to switch devices on or off selectively
- Select Consumption or Feed-in if you want to use actions based on meter readings
- Once you have set the threshold value, you can add various actions to be performed when the value is exceeded or not reached:
- Switch devices on or off
- Send notifications to a mobile device
- Start groups or scenes
- And much more
From now on, you can use your solar surplus even more smartly!
- Threshold values in EcoTracker offer a wide range of different options.
- To control devices smartly, select power consumption when setting the threshold value.
- Tip: Activate the minimum duration for the threshold value to avoid constant cycling.
